Sometimes, things just “jump” into place. This was just one of those occasions when the term social capital came into the conversation stream and it occurred to me that Social Capital, in all of its form, was one of the things that we had lost sight of.

Digital Inclusion – Scratching the Itch!
This post is from David Wilcox’s excellent site on Local Communities. I had for some time been ruminating about the “Core Offer” for Digital Inclusion following comments by Helen Milner. I had published a couple of ‘rants’ on the Digital Engagement site but decided here to try and get some perspective on it. I also published this to ePractice.eu, it attracted 3 comments, a record for me!
Losing Faith – Hopefully a Temporary Blip
No matter how enthusiastic you get about a trend or a technology sometimes you wonder what it’s all about and whether you have it right. Such moments of doubt can lead to some soul searching. The ability of ICTs to empower people and to improve life chances underpins much of what I do, but what if it was proven not to work!
The Infrastructure Debate, Random Jottings
Following a discussion from a US Tweet I jotted down some notes on Next Generation Access and the on going debate about how it should or should not be implemented here in the UK. As a rule I try not to get involved in infrastructure discussions, other than to listen in, but I suspect that it will become increasingly important as it contributes to the widening digital divide.
